Counsellor Practicum Program

Pivot Point’s practicum program offers unique opportunities for Mental Health Counselling students across British Columbia. Our program places students in various settings, including in-person training in centers and classrooms, as well as in virtual sessions across the province.

During your practicum, you will gain hands-on experience working with children, youth, families, and Pivot Point staff, in accordance with your University’s practicum protocols, addressing crucial areas such as neurodivergence, trauma, and a wide range of mental health counselling support. You will learn to apply trauma-informed and culturally safe approaches, case conceptualization, and recording, developing versatile skills essential for clinical practice.

All of our practicum supervisors are British Columbia Association of Clinical Counsellors (BCACC) Registered Clinical Counsellors and Approved Clinical Supervisors (RCC-ACS). They meet the highest standards for practicum supervision, ensuring you receive expert guidance across all domains in your practicum experience.

With flexible locations and comprehensive training, our program prepares you for the evolving landscape of the counseling profession.
